Iplex operates manufacturing facilities located in New Zealand, every Australian State, and Singapore.
COMPANY HISTORY
Founded in 1938 as Iplex Plastics, the company played a leading role in the development of plastic components over many years. Then in 1962, Iplex was a pioneer in the introduction of plastic pipes. Many firsts followed - including the introduction of moulded PVC plumbing fittings, dual hardness rubber ring joints for PVC pressure pipes, Blue Brute uPVC Pressure Pipes, Rhino modified PVC pressure pipes, the Pro-fit polybutylene hot and cold water plumbing system and HOBAS centrifugally cast GRP pipes. Now taken for granted, each of these developments, at the time, represented a major advance in the acceptance and use of plastics in pipelines.
Iplex Pipelines, known at the time as James Hardie Pipelines, was sold by James Hardie Industries on 01 October 1997 to a joint venture owned 75% by the Crane Group and 25% by the Netherlands-based company Wavin.
The Crane Group is a publicly listed Australian company which was originally founded 130 years ago. Today it is a leading manufacturer of non-ferrous metal products and plastic pipes and fittings. It is also the largest distributor of plumbing supplies in Australasia, with more than 200 stores - trading as Tradelink in Australia - and Mico Wakefield in New Zealand. The company is known for its sound strategic direction and clear focus on satisfying customer needs.
Wavin is a large European producer of plastic pipeline systems.
In March 2006 the Crane Group acquired the remaining 25% of Iplex from Wavin.

| TopAqualine Products |
Rod Penny originally founded Aqualine in 1990 after being in the industry since 1957. Aqualine Products Limited is a wholly New Zealand owned family company. Rod has been involved in the plumbing industry for more than forty years and held management positions in companies like Noel Products Ltd, Hardie Iplex and Fowler Bathroom Products, all stalwarts of the plumbing industry in New Zealand. Based in Henderson, Auckland, with a warehouse in Dunedin, products are distributed throughout the country by over 600 plumbing and building merchants throughout Australasia.
In 1994 Darren Waith joined Aqualine, and together with Rod, have built a reputation as a company providing the design and innovation for the NZ Plumbing Industry. “With the changing face of plumbing, it is important that we, not only keep up, but lead in the development of our own industry” says Darren.
Aqualine have been rated in the top 5 plumbing suppliers consistently for the last 5 years. Our new products have also lead the way with our Space Trap, Unitap, Reflex Wastes and the Flexi Fin Pan Connectors.
Aqualine always support the industry and are involved in the Master Plumbers and PDANZ. One of the iconic events on the plumbing calendar is the Melbourne Cup, an event that has been going for the last 30 years. Aqualine have kept the tradition going and this year held it at “Top Of The Park”. It is always a who’s who gathering from the plumbing industry.
Fishing is a prerequisite if you want to work at Aqualine. Every year the girls compete with the boys in our annual fishing contest. Both teams go out on separate launches to see who will hold the trophy for the next 12 months. Currently the boys hold the trophy, but with Kris our Auckland rep landing a 26kg snapper recently they may be in danger of losing next year.
Approximately, 50% of our product is locally made and 50% made exclusively for us overseas. This is a healthy balance. Last year Aqualine acquired a manufacturing company so a large amount of assembly and manufacturing is now done in our warehouse in Auckland.
Aqualine have representatives covering the whole of NZ. People are, and have always been our most important asset. Many of our staff at Aqualine have been with us for over 10 years. With exports increasing and the plumbing market slowly coming back Aqualine has increased its sales force. Janine Trotter has joined the sales team in as the South Auckland and Waikato representative. |

| TopPeter Cocks |
|
Hot water heating can account for up to 40% of the average household’s energy use, so it is important to choose a hot water cylinder that delivers energy efficiency, optimum temperature and strong water flow.
Cylinders manufactured by Peter Cocks Ltd are designed specifically to meet these requirements, and over the last 45 years the company has built an impressive reputation for the outstanding quality of its products and its strong customer service.
Our commitment to manufacturing quality products means that our cylinders provide homes, farms and businesses with cost-efficient, reliable and safe hot water systems.
Peter Cocks Ltd is a New Zealand owned, family business. We enjoy our links with other great Kiwi businesses, and take pride in supporting manufacturing in the Canterbury region.
Dramatic improvements in technology over recent years mean that hot water cylinders are much more efficient and reliable than those of days gone by. There is also a much wider range of models and sizes available.
It is important that you select the cylinder that is going to meet your needs, both in the short and long term, so that you have plenty of hot water for whatever application. Talk to your local plumbing merchant about your needs.
Think about how many people the system will have to service; a household’s usage of hot water system varies widely, depending on the age of family members, and the appliances used in the home. Consider also what energy source you wish to rely on.
